Anyway there’s a superb Hakka Mee in Pandan Indah in Cheras, if you are looking for something not too rich, handmade and full of goodness I suggest you head over there.

Hakka Mee are basically handmade noodles (without the eggyolk and oil) making them healthy and springy, cooked on the spot with a light soup and some minced meat and spring onions on top. Usually served with fish or meat balls (your choice) and the deliciously tangy and spicy Hakka Chili Sauce!

The Chong Ko Hakka Noodle in Pandah Indah is apparently from the same family as a famous Hakka Noodle in Kuala Lipis. But thankfully this one is much easier to find (If you know where Steven’s Corner is you can find this place).

The interior is plain and clean and generally always busy.

The noodle itself is quite a plain fare as described above, but very tasty nonetheless.

I always go for it with a portion of meatballs, as seen at the back.

And the Sui Gau which are rather good there too.

But the way you have to eat it, really – is drenched in the special Hakka Chili Sauce. It’s got a kick though so be warned.

A solid favourite when in Cheras for breakfast, healthy and tasty and very authentic. We give it a We Ate This 8/10.

They do serve Dim Sum in the morning, and we’ve been there a couple of times..but it’s nothing special. Anyway we aren’t writing about the dim sum!

The place looks like this.

The interior is fairly simple, it’s clean enough. The service can be a bit hit and miss though.

Mushroom soup is great for a starter, it’s real mushroom soup and is pretty good for this type of place. It can rival far more expensive places at only RM3.90 a bowl.

Good quality large sized juices are available – this was Apple/Orange juice.

And this is what we go there for! Breaded chicken topped with tomato and mozzarella – Superb! Served with fries, a bun and some coleslaw. It’s just a perfect combination of tender chicken wrapped in crunchy breadcrumbs moistened up with a layer of tomato and finished in chewy cheese….yum~!

The second all time favourite – the Honey Baked Lamb Chop! Juicy, slightly sweet, meaty and plenty to chew on…one of my favourite lamb chops around.

Also not bad is the Pork Chop Cordon Bleu..(Great for pork lovers).

The Lemon Sauce Spare Ribs are pretty good to munch on too.

Not having tried a good variety on the menu, it’s hard to rate it…but for the above items (which we eat again and again). We give it a We Ate This 8/10.
