1901 Hotdogs - The Curve
March 27, 2008 – 5:06 am - 801 views1901 hotdogs are something that we eat quite regularly, quite a light meal for lunch and consistently good. Also now the franchise has grown you can find them easily in almost every mall big or small.
This branch we visited was in The Curve, near the footbridge from Ikano and very near to Waroeng Penyet. The places are usually quite simple, this one is a cafe style but most are just stalls with high stools and a small counter to eat.

Their tagline is food for friendship.

They used to have some wicked real lemonade too..but no more, now I stick to the Ice Lemon Tea.

They have two sizes of hotdog, regular and great.

And a few flavours, about 6 I think. This is my favourite, Chicago Beef (regular size).

Another good one is the New York Chicken (great size), the chicken can sometimes be more juicy than the beef.

The prices are pretty reasonable and service is generally fast, great for a snack or a light lunch. We recommend 1901 and give it a We Ate This 8/10.

Any other good hot dog places around?

“light meal” is a very relative term.

That first pic made me laugh, like someone has fallen asleep at the counter! Well, at least the dogs looked nice!

i love them too…especially the combo set. Its good for lunch if you’re in a rush….(though not exactly cheap)

my absolute favorite - and first choice whenever i need to grab a quick bite! but the outlet @ klcc is too small for my liking - always end up having it to go.
i always go with the texas ted… they used to have a mean set - consisting of chips (as in fish and chips - not those shoestring fries).. but the hotdogs are still great

Arrgh, you are making me hungry! Have you all tried their newer offerings? The non-hot dogs.

have never had the chance to try the dogs there but i guess it sure beats the crap out of A&W’s Coney Dog.

This is usually what I will have in GSC if I didn’t have time for dinner and got a movie to catch.
Forgot to checked on the notification.

What do you think of the hotdogs and milkshake from DQ Julius? Think its great value for the quality of the hotdog and what is essentially a whole cup of ice cream masquerading as milkshake!

KY: Compare it to Carl’s Jr. then? Haha.
twosuperheroes: Yeah I did mention in the post, the beef can be a bit dry sometimes.
Hazza: I think he was picking something up.
fashionasia: Yup great on the move, price is reasonable I think.
farah: Yah they seem to have cut down on the sides, and the only outlet I know which is decent sized is this one in the curve - most of the rest are just booths with bar stools.
Mark: If you mean the burger type things? Once I think, nothing special. The hotdogs are much better.
kevin: Yes yes much better than A&W.
Simon Seow: Yeah is good stuff!
Paul Tan: Haven’t tried DQ hotdog, only tried their famous whatever it is that they hold upside down. Something like McFlurry! Will try out the dog.
