Fasta Pasta - Italian Food - Ikano Power Center

Fasta Pasta is a chain that came over from Australia shortly after Ikano opened a few years ago. It was pretty popular when it first opened, the price are a little high for most people and it has declined in popularity.
It’s located near Ace Hardware on the ground floor of Ikano opposite Starbucks.

They give you free bread to start, with proper Lurpak butter!

It’s nice with a sprinkle of chili flakes and parmesan cheese.

The decor is pretty simple, wood and tiles - clean lines.

The pasta comes in two sizes - Asian and Aussie - Asian for those with smaller appetites and the Aussie portion is good for sharing, the pasta ranges from about RM18-RM27. I do like their ravioli!
The prawn sambal risotto is rather nice too but quite expensive for a small portion (RM28) It is very rich though, good texture and flavour..heavy and filling!

Anywhere else that has good risotto? Another favourite is the Rotelle Fantasia with ham and mushrooms (RM21 for Aussie size). Very nice combination, used to be creamier..not so great now.

I find their drinks over-priced so I just tend to stick to ice water. I’ve noticed the service has gotten a lot worse too, it used to be much better. I guess we will go back, but it’s not so much of an exciting prospect as when they first opened.
All in all they deserve a We Ate This 5/10.

I thought it’s now closed? When was the last time you were there?
It sucked, for me.

D’oh: Hmm not sure about that, I was there February 21st just a couple of weeks ago. Will have a look next time I’m at Ikano - I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s closed the way the food and service has declined.

Precious Pea: Most likely why it’s closed down!
lotsofcravings: Squid Ink! There’s a place in Mon’t Kiara that has decent risotto too I think.

The picture itself looks good. I wonder …

It started to suck almost immediately after the aussies left. They were here to train the staff, i guess the outlet either lost the original cooks or they’re just plain lazy now. the last time i was there was over a year ago, maybe even 2. it sucked so bad.

melvin, foong: No need to wonder..it’s gone haha.
Aishah: Yeah sadly that seems to happen a lot *sigh* I wonder why the locals don’t care to maintain the standard. It’s not exactly a cheap place.

Too bad mate, I guess you’ll not be able to visit this place anymore. It was officially close down for good.

cy: Yup it’s gone, checked it out last time I was in Ikano.

I talked to the people there, they actually moved to somewhere in the middle of KL close to the KLCC area, they didn’t close down completely. I haven’t figured out where though. Apparently they were targeting the office crowd, Ikano’s family crowd wasn’t bringing enough business for them I guess.
